- How does the word counter handle different languages?
- The tool uses a unified counting approach for all languages. Character count is based on actual characters (including letters, numbers, punctuation, and spaces). "Words" are matched as continuous sequences of letters, digits, or characters from any script, so it works correctly with English, Chinese, Arabic, and other languages mixed together.
- What is reading time?
- Reading time is an estimate based on the total character count and your chosen reading speed. The default is 250 words per minute (average reading speed). You can adjust it below the input box: Slow (200 wpm), Average (250 wpm), Fast (300 wpm), or Very Fast (400 wpm).
- Is there a text length limit?
- The maximum input is 100,000 characters per session. The character counter updates in real-time and will warn you when approaching the limit. For longer texts, we recommend splitting them into multiple sessions.
- Is my text data safe?
- Absolutely. All text processing is done entirely in your browser. No text data is ever uploaded to any server. The tool works even when you're offline. No registration needed, zero privacy risk.
- How are paragraphs and sentences counted?
- Paragraphs are separated by one or more blank lines (consecutive line breaks). Sentences are split by periods, question marks, exclamation points, and their full-width equivalents. This works consistently across both English and other languages.
